Okay, listen. I had all intentions of keeping up with my blog with my full-time job, but it’s difficult! Not only am I busy from 8 to 6:30 (that’s including my commute), but I have a social life again after being gone from the city for almost two years. Your girl is straight-up tired. AND here’s the (somewhat) sad truth. My days run into each other, my weeks run into each other, and my months run into each other. Not much changes day-to-day so it would have been a veritable copy/paste from one month’s recap to the next. So instead of being late with my April and May recaps where I also might have had to address that I turned 33, I present you with my SPRING recap, or rather some highlights from a very busy season, that started with a weekend with my family for Easter:
March 2017 | Czech Republic, Germany, France, NJ, NYC
In March, I continued my whirlwind trip of 10 cities in six weeks, and accidentally added one more city to that list. March came in like a few days in magical, mythical Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic, where I met a person whose profession is “fire eater”, and went out in the only Starbucks within a half hour in a drizzling, ghost-town-in-the-winter on the Jersey Shore. That makes it seem like I’m not happy to be home – this is not the case. It’s awesome sleeping in my own bed, having access to all of my possessions that are not packed away in my sister’s basement, and not having to pay for all of my meals. Well, and having phone service all of the time, being in the same time zone as most of my friends, and being able to catch up on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. And, of course, being with my family and the pup, and reuniting with friends.
June 2016 Recap | NYC & the Dominican Republic
I have been more than a little preoccupied this month, only writing two posts, but I have many reasons for this. I will be able to reveal all in next month’s recap, but until then, just know there are many changes happening and I am incredibly excited about what’s to come.
May 2016 Recap | NYC & NJ
This year is really creeping up on me. I can’t believe I’m already 31.083 years old. A quiz on Facebook yesterday told me my heart was age 20, my soul was 92, and my body is 18, so there appears to be even more confusion about my age than I thought. But when hanging out with lifelong friends as I had the pleasure of doing many times this month, it doesn’t even matter how old I am.
April 2016 Recap | NYC, Philly, Guadeloupe Islands
By the beginning of April, I already had something scheduled every day of the month and I was stressed out majorly. I eventually realized I could skip out on some of the events, but there was still a lot to think about. Because of this, I didn’t get a chance to work on this site as much as I wanted to. But I did get a chance to explore a new island, spend time with family and friends, and listen to the newest Justin Bieber album {well, three songs on repeat} 1000 times.
Spring 2012 Recap
Warm-weather Erin is the best Erin, fo’ sho’. Spending time outside puts me in an amazing mood. I love eating at restaurants out on the porches/sidewalks, drinking on rooftops, eating outside on the pier at lunch, laying out in the park, and walking home the three miles from Tribeca to Hell’s Kitchen.
NYC | Why Winter Needs to End, Pt. 2
I can’t even remember the last time I wore something aside from my (awesome) Hunter snowboots outside. Oh, wait, I do remember, it was the day after Christmas, when I bought them in the middle of the first snowstorm. Can it please stop snowing?! Can tomorrow’s snow forecast please turn into lemondrops and gumdrops instead? This is getting ridiculous. I am getting upset and I need to talk about something happy immediately. Oh, I know…
NYC | Why Winter Needs to End, Pt. 1
Okay, so I gave winter a chance. I even walked outside and took pictures the first time it snowed and I thought it was beautiful. But winter has taken way too much advantage of me lately. It has snowed every week. This is not acceptable and I need March to get here ASAP.
NYC | Angel is in the Outfield
I never really followed any sports on television, the main reason being my short attention span, but I really like going to sports games in person. I’m supposed to like Philly sports since I’m from South Jersey, but for reasons I will not disclose here, I personally try to avoid everything about Philadelphia except for Ben Franklin and cheesesteaks. I actually got glared at on the beach this summer at home for wearing my Mets hat…
